[darcs-users] On "darcs annotate foo/"

The documentation indicates that "darcs annotates foo/" -- that is,
annotating a directory -- should display the LAST patch to modify each
file and directory in foo/ (including foo/. itself).

However, when I tested this with

    darcs annotate contrib/

It only gave creation entries, e.g.

    # Created by [Add zsh completion examples
    # wnoise at ofb.net**Tue Apr  8 23:23:14 PDT 2003]  as ./zsh_completion_old

which is patently not the last patch to modify that file.

What is going on here?
