I would have pasted the progress reports, but my scrollback was borked 
by the check failure it seems. The GHC annotate error was a "user error: 
no files to annotate", IIRC.

I'm going to try to build a darcs-2.3.99 and run it in a benchmark 
sometime tomorrow.
