[darcs-users] darcs check does optimize?

Hi all,

I noticed that "darcs check" with darcs 2.4.4 made a repo go from 8.4
to 7.9 MBytes.
After that, darcs optimize does not save any more size.

Is this behaviour on purpose? Wouldn't it be a problem wrt performance?

This is with darcs 2.4.4 on a darcs2 repo.
