Meanwhile, I've set up a local temporary repository doing an empty pull
from a local copy of the darcs.net repo to the another local copy, using
crontab entry

  */10 * * * * darcs pull --repo /foo/cron-darcs-test/pull-to /foo/cron-darcs-test/darcs.net/
