This is extremely cool. Thanks for mentioning it.

Even cooler (if that is possible) would be if there were a standard 
directory for that under _darcs, say _darcs/obliterated, empty by default, 
so that one could put

  obliterate -O_darcs/obliterated

in one's ~/.darcs/defaults. Or, similarly effective, darcs could just create 
the directory if it does not exist, or maybe only if an extra option --
create-non-existing-directories is given, to be on the safe side.
