[darcs-users] Building darcs hangs...

...in the cabal configure step, which can be seen when adding the -v switch 
to cabal install:

#...snipped long configure output
creating dist/setup
./dist/setup/setup build --verbose=2
darcs changes --from-tag 2.9.1 --count
# now it hangs; when I do a Ctrl-C it continues:
Building library...
creating dist/build
#...etc

Note: this is a repo I checked out with a lazy get. Is this expected?

Can I disable the configure step that seems to take forever?

BTW this is an old problem, not caused by any recent change.
