I'm seeing the same, also in KDE, i.e. Evolution seems to have its own
window management. For example, this compose window will not push to
the back, although a click on the main Evo window will bring it to the
foreground. OTOH if I open the Preferences dialogue it will stay on top
until closed, even if I try to select a non-Evo window. I assume that's
a feature rather than a bug. I don't know what happens under Gnome as I
don't use it.
