Hi,
I won't do it, because most of the non-UTC time zones have standard
time and daylight saving time rules, which means a repeating event
could be shown off by one hour due to the unexpected conversion to your
local time zone.

Where precisely is that, please? I believe the Day View positions the
event at the correct time. When you hover mouse cursor above the event
you can see the times at the local time and in the saved time zone.
