I didn't even know this is possible. Every tutorial I have seen up till 
now for syncing Ubuntu Touch contacts with CardDav is based on 
Syncevolution. I will definitely explore this. Thanks for the 
suggestion. :-)

I know nothing yet about these APIs, but I will keep this information in 
mind as I explore your suggestion above.

All good. I'm very thankful that these open source, volunteer-driven
