I am / was painfully aware that this is bad practice, but I did it
anyway, in a fit of pique.
I have since recovered from a backup, so this is not the issue.
The issue is Evolution's repeated insistence on synchronizing thousands
of messages offline, when no more than a dozen or two have actually
changed.
This was the proximate cause of my ill-advised power off.
