	Hi,
is gnome-keyring installed and gnome-keyring-daemon running? Evolution
has a checkbox to remember the password, it shows something like:

   Mail authentication request

   Please enter the password for mail account “account-name”.

   User Name:  [         ]
   Password:   [         ]

   [x] Add this password to your keyring

It can sometimes skip the User Name and the checkbox below it, but the
prompt is similar to the above (it can slightly vary depending which
part of the account asks for the password).

Then the question is what the dialog you see looks like.

You probably do not know what the previous Evolution version was, do
you?

Knowing what account type they are, you can enable targeted debugging
for that specific account as described here:
