[Evolution-users] Flatpak vs native

I have been forced to leave Gnome and run KDE for reasons beyond the scope of
this list. (Wayland)
Pete always says he does not use Flatpak and it's always swirled round in my
mind each time I run into a permissions problem with Flatpak. Even though I am
very conservative, I figured it won't hurt to try 3.5.8, and of course it has
to be a flatpak. For hours I fought to enable dark mode in Evo, and conceded
it is obviously due to the convoluted way flatpak sandboxes applications and
restricts permissions.

See now I see znother good reason to avoid flatpaks Pete!

Evo 3.5.8 (Flatpak) won't follow dark mode with KDE. As soon as I installed
the rock solid 3.5.6-2 from the Debian repo, dark theme magically reappeared
and fully themed without. Just one more reason to stay away from Flatpak and
learn to live with with the older more stable Evo.

Thanks for the heads up Pete! You saved me an entire day researching something
that is just broken.
