[Evolution-users] Losing track of which messages it's displaying

Version 3.56.2-0+deb13u1 repaired the race condition that resulted in
Evolution's mail reader getting stuck opening or storing to local MH
folders.
But there's still a problem with it losing track of what it's
displaying.
As I'm reading a message, if a new one arrives on the sbcglobal.net
(actually yahoo.com, now att.net) server, Evolution reorganizes the
"table of contents" pane and decides I really want to continue reading
a different message.
This worked quite harmfully recently. I wanted to delete a message in
the "sent" folder but as I typed Ctrl-d the pane was reorganized and
the wrong one got marked. Even though I have set "draw a line through
deleted messages" it soon disappeared. It was no longer in the sent
folder, nor in Trash, nor in any other subscribed folders. My
experience is that even if I get to such messages quickly and
"undelete" them they still irrevocably disappear from the entire
universe. It's not just a local "on my computer only" thing. Evolution
manages to tell the sbcglobal net server they're gone. Yeah, I can read
my mail at att.net, but the interface sucks. And I can't store from
their server into folders on my own computer, or at least I haven't
learned how to do it.
