I've been using Evolution for well over 15 years and have never seen
this (in fact I'm not sure I've even heard of it before now). Clearing
the cache means a considerable loss of efficiency for online accounts,
so it would only make sense if something else is going wrong.

It's important to say what kind of accounts you have when asking this
sort of question.
