Instead of creating a new message it would have been better to have

You don't give any details (and no, I haven't searched for the earlier
post). Are these local or remote folders, e.g. on an IMAP or Exchange
server? And what kind of account is it anyway? I never use the Archive
feature of Evolution myself, but others might have an insight if you
are more explicit.
