Hi,
I thought of using some close environment to that where you can
reproduce the problem already. I've nothing against using a virtual
machine, I can help with the Fedora setup/commands, though the Flatpak
may use less space in this case. I'd like to confirm the changes
actually work, because I've been able to reproduce it only rarely, thus
what I committed is more a guess from the code reading than a confirmed
fix.
The changes I think may or may not help are already committed for the
upcoming 3.58.1 release, thus in fact you can only load the stable [1]
build manifest and build it. It'll use your setup from the current
Flatpak, thus you get exactly the same accounts, only with the patched
binaries. Adding some debug patches on top of this is not a show
stopper, it's only few lines in a .json file. The build then takes some
resources on your side.
I'll leave it up to you. If you prefer a virtual machine, also to keep
the test bits out of your main machine, then it's fine by me. Ideally
install the Fedora 43 beta (which has the 3.58.0 evolution) and I can
provide a test build of the packages for you.
Thanks and bye,
Milan
