Hi Milan
Thank you for your response!
The "merge to existing" option does not appear which I think is logic
as the "Edit Full"-step already found and opened the existing contact.
When I try to save the changes, there is only the option to "Cancel" or
"Save as Copy", if I did not change anything or if I changed a lot in
each tab.

Honestly "Add to Addressbook" could actually mean adding something new
to the address book. Maybe somebody thought this should be taken
literally and changed the code (if there is another developer) and even
if the "edit-full"-process finds an existing contact, a new contact
should be created as something needs to be added to the addressbook.
"Add or edit contact" (or something similar) would explain the options
better (which were present before).

Not sure if it would be a possibility to add an option "Save to
existing contact" (or something similar) during the process to save the
changes.

Thank you for doing that! Hopefully it is not too much work! I used
Evolution 3.44.4-0ubuntu1, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
Cheers
