Hi,
that's correct. You only need to know (or set up) an application, which
will be "good enough" for your admins/organization.
When you are at that OAuth2 setup screen in the Evolution, you may
notice a link named "Help...". When you click on it it opens a
relatively long wiki page with some description. One section is named
Application ID. There are provided three IDs together with their
settings. The third is from a Microsoft site and if I recall correctly,
it identifies itself as an Outlook plugin, thus try that one. I do not
know of any other app IDs.
Alternatively, instead of using EWS protocol, try the "Microsoft 365".
It's not that great as the EWS (the feature parity between the two is
not complete on the Microsoft side, not talking the new protocol being
more strict than the EWS in certain ways), but it can work differently.
No idea whether it'll work better in your setup though, but you can add
the account beside the EWS account and remove it if it'll not help.
