The behavior seems to be client-specific.
In 2 different cloud address books (Google Workspace and Infomaniak
kSuite) the spurious "/" characters don't appear when I access the
addressbooks through a browser, but both Evolution 3.52.3 under Ubuntu
and Betterbird 140.3.0 under Windows 10 show the spurious "/"
characters before colons. In fact, Betterbird contributes not just
one, but two slashes. I suspect that the fault lies in some open-source
module common to various client applications. Since I upgraded my iPad
Pro to iPadOS 18.7, the iPad's Contacts app also shows one spurious
slash before each colon in Contact notes.
