	Hi,
as you sorted out the other problems (those related to DConf are
suspicious to me - there are stored app settings, like those in
Edit->Preferences menu and many other), I'll jump straight to the
related error on the terminal:

   (evolution:5396): evolution-shell-WARNING **: 10:29:22.640:
   Cannot import any of the given URIs

which means evolution failed to process the file for some reason. Pity
it does not write the URI-s here.

Could you save the attached file into /tmp/ directory and then run from
a terminal:

   evolution /tmp/event.ics

please? It opens the import wizard here. If also for you, then there
can be something odd about the file, though I'd expect it'll be
rejected by the import wizard started in the File->Import->... too.
