I don´t do this. I just backup my $HOME nightly via a script. I find it
hard to envisage a scenario where I would want to backup Evolution but
not everything else. I use a compressing and deduplicating app called
Borgmatic for this, so the space usage is very moderate. Other options
are of course available.

As we've discussed many times on this list, the Backup/Restore options
under the File menu are misleadingly named, but so far no-one has come
up with reasonable alternatives. They are mostly there when you want to
transfer to a new machine, not for regular "normal" backups.
