Thanks for that Patrick.

I, too, have been running this setup without problem (for ages), until
last week.  Aside from my usual Fedora updates nothing changed.

Yes, the suggestion is that perhaps my keyring and login passwords
aren't the same.  If I get the problem again tomorrow morning I'll try
to ensure they are and see what happens then.
