As I said, you can rsync the local archive to the NAS for safe keeping.
You can also do clever things like checking the existence of the NAS
mount in the cron script and aborting if it doesn't exist. Also many
NAS boxes accept SSH access and rsync knows how to SSH so you can do
the copy without using the NAS mount.
