Brandon Philips commented on MNT-1331:
--------------------------------------

It would be trivial to implement but I believe the current implementation of selecting a range and having the next available IP is a bit easier to use.

I will reopen the bug if I can be convinced otherwise :-)

Thanks,
Brandon

> Polvi just hooked me up with a login on the m.osuosl.org setup for gentoo. While poking around in the 'new host' screen I noticed something that could be a lot more intuitive. In the "ip address" drop down and 'specify an IP address" text area, it would be Sweet Ass Sweet (TM) if that drop down had a list of UNUSED IP's in the range, so I could just pick one, instead of being lazy and needing to manually input the IP address. Pick an unused IP, assign it to the box in question, and be on my way.
> Blame Alex Polvi if any of this sounds like a waste of time, it was all his idea. Other than that, a sweet product that Gentoo will surely appreciate.
