Frederic Wenzel resolved MNT-87:
Assign To: Frederic Wenzel (was: Michael Clay)
I fixed this partly: We use valtz (http://x42.com/software/valtz/) now with maintain to verify the integrity of the generated tinydns DNS data file.
This still does not prevent an error from occuring, but the config file will not be pushed to the DNS server if it's invalid.
Therefore, MT3 does not "automatically break" your DNS anymore.
> Better DNS Checks
> Key: MNT-87
> URL: http://bugs.osuosl.org/browse/MNT-87
> Project: Maintain
> Type: Improvement
> Components: Build Scripts, Database
> Versions: 2.2, 2.4.0, 3.0

> Fix For: 3.0
> The build process does not check records are valid before it adds them to the tinydns data file. So there is no mechanism in the build process to maintain the integrity of DNS. There should be checks so that a hosed database does not necessarily mean hosed DNS.
> The way Maintain is currently designed, if this bug is triggered, you won't know you have a problem until your DNS is already broken.
