[osuosl-powerdev] Feedback on Cell usage

Hello All,

I had used the Cell machine to do several experiments; they culminated in a
book authored by me
published by Springer:

Also I have used the Cell machine to do experiments on Polytope Enumeration.

I usually develop on my PS3 running Yellow Dog or a cross compiler.

The access provided by POWER.ORG to these machines is very valuable in
making sure that code written by developers like us not only compiles on
the Cell and other POWER machines, but is also optimized.

If free access is removed, this will sure impact the ability to test
code on IBM processors,

Btw: the code for my experiments is available for experimentation.
