I some good news and I have some bad news.

The bad news is the power5 will be going away soon and shipped back to
IBM. The good news is I was able to boot the power5 onto a livecd and
copied all of /home to another machine. Also good news is that IBM has
sent us a power7 machine as a replacement for the power5.

I'm planning on integrating the new power7 into our Supercell [1]
infrastructure which means things will work a little differently moving
forward. I plan to keep the G5 and running until we get the new power7
online and don't plan on bringing the power5 back online since its being
shipped soon. I recommend any users of the G5 (hickory) to copy any data
they want off as we will likely be shutting down that machine within a
month.

If you would like to have a tarball of your homedir on the power5,
please send an email to support at osuosl.org and describe any unique
files/folders in the homedir so we can verify ownership.

I will send another email in a few weeks with an update of the situation
and will have more details of how things will work moving forward.

Thanks-
