I myself don't need bridges that much, but many people complain and seem
to ask for that, to accommodate the lack of federation and different
protocols.

Unless I'm mistaken, most bridges, like Mattermost, require trusting
repositories that are not explicitly committed to the FSDG, which is
like the FDroid issue.
