[Replicant] How do you send AT commands on Samsung S2?

I'm trying to play around with my phone and would like to learn about
sending AT commands to my modem. I've tried to connect using adb shell
and do something like 

busybox -t 5000 /dev/ttyGS0

but that just makes the shell go irresponsive. Am I trying the wrong
tty? I have checked the wiki and don't have the ttyACM0. Is this
something I need to create somehow?
