I have to look at the status of the various versions, last time I looked at 2.2 it was not usable yet. which version do you run?

Most of the changes are phone specific:
Android works that way, there is the android userspace that needs/use
some hardware libraries.
In the case of the htc dream and nexusone, there are some free version
of the libraries in the AOSP(android open source project) but which
requires non-free dl-opened libraries.
In replicant 1.5 I removed the need of such libraires.(replicant 2.2 is
not usable with headphones yet on htcdream...)

I'll contact them on irc, long time ago I asked some questions to them
but didn't think about supporting the freerunner with replicant.
Basically here are my thought:
Is Android on the freerunner totally free software, if so why doing a
replicant image?, we could simply find a way to collaborate with them
for the rest such as the free market that aarown is working on, and
point to them for freerunner users.
If not I bet it would be quite easy to free it, as I bet the system
libraries would be free software
