Touchscreen firmware

Hello, all!

This is slightly off-topic, but seems like something people on this list 
might know/care about.

I'm trying to find a multitouch panel that either (a) does not have 
upgradable firmware or (b) has firmware that is free software.  So far all 
of the touch panels where I have been able to confirm the situation have 
upgradable non-free firmware on-board, which is of course not acceptable to 
me if I'm going to pay money for it.

I'm wondering if anyone here knows of a panel that can be used freely?
