The Replicant project's position is to never distribute or recommend the
installation of non-free software.

However, it is obvious that you're using non-free software when using
the modem to use mobile data. From my personal perspective, it is thus
not worse to use the proprietary Wi-Fi firmwares, but that's not the
project's perspective: what runs on the modem is out of the scope of the
Replicant project and we're not shipping it anyways.

This mailing list is not a general-purpose discussion list. It is about
the Replicant project and related aspects. Discussing non-free software
is clearly out of the scope of the Replicant project and is explicitly
out of line with our position. Thus, it makes sense to not talk about
this here. I will not censor messages bringing up such topics, but
simply post a reminder that it is not the place to have such
discussions.

Please ask about this somewhere else, the Replicant mailing list is
obviously not the place.
