Also, bear in mind that Android is really not designed for plug and play
with external devices, so the software won't simply detect the dongle
and make it work out of the box.

There is clearly an incentive for this though, especially when running
Android on devices like single board computers.

Maybe Android-x86 has some interesting leads on this. It would be
possible to have HALs that would be somewhat flexible. I should probably
add that in the tasks list for Replciant.
