[Replicant] Replacing Android with Replicant ROM for factory reset

What happens when a Replicant installed smartphone is factory reset?


Will it reinstall Android or Replicant?


If it will install Android, is it possible to replace the Android ROM 
image with a Replicant ROM to install that instead?
