Yes indeed, I understood that is what you meant.

Here I was talking about a different issue, and I'm wondering if it
would makes sense to (later) interface ModemManager (or some similar
high level software) with the Android RIL. Since I didn't look into it
(yet) I've no idea of what would be the ideal level of abstraction for
the software components we want to reuse from GNU/Linux.
I looked into the RIL architecture some time ago and I remember it, but
I didn't look into the interfaces with ModemManager or similar
software and how it could be called from the RIL library.
