Thanks for the swift reply.
I modified the subject-title. I hope that this is OK for this
mailing-list. I tried to search for some thing about "etiquette" or
"netiquette" on Replicant's list-archive, and did not find any thing.
Responses lower down.
I am glad for such a libre system to be available for at least some
tablets and phones.
Thanks for supporting libre computing.

Right, fastboot. I read, I guess here
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TWRP#Functions
that fastboot was a way to install a recovery.
May-be I ought to have mentioned fastboot be-fore hitting "send"!

I can type, at a command-prompt, some thing which I read, if that is
what you mean.

No. I am not sure how to describe the problem. Probably not worth
our time, for me to try to describe it now.
I plan to try "fastboot".
It seems that I can use that (and even "ADB", and "MkBootImg" if
needed) on "Parabola" if I install package "android-tools", since
https://www.parabola.nu/packages/community/i686/android-tools/files/
lists these files
usr/bin/fastboot
usr/bin/adb
usr/bin/mkbootimg
and even lists this file
usr/share/bash-completion/completions/fastboot
So then for fastboot, what commands and parameters and syntax,
should a person type, for installing or else simply updating,
Replicant's recovery, at least for the biggest supported devices (Tab 2
10.1/7, Px1xx) and the biggest camera-enabled devices (Note 8.0, n51xx)?
I am glad for such a libre system to be available for at least some
tablets and phones.

Chad.
