Sorry I've been extremely busy theses last weeks.

Interesting.

This is probably due to a bug or some missing things in libsamsung-ipc
or samsung-ril.

We would also like to know what SIM card you used:
- Is it a prepaid SIM card or does it go with a contract?
- Which operator is it for, and in which country was it bought.
- If it's relevant the associated operator offer.

IMEI, IMSI, and what you deem sensitive (your number, the number you
try to call if it's private, etc).

I need to find enough time to look into it, and also to be able to
reproduce the issue.

For reproducing the issue I started making a list of SIM cards[1] that
are known not to work (and the SIM cards that work) on the wiki, in the
hope of being able to find one that doesn't work.
I also bought two prepaid cards in France (one for SFR, and one for
Orange), but unfortunately they both seems to work.

I know someone that has a non-working card but it's linked to a
contract (it's not prepaid) and that persons lives far away.

I've also looked into buying a prepaid Wind SIM card from Italy, but if
I would have bought it, it would leave me with only one month to
try to make it work again (as I probably wouldn't be able to recharge
and they require you to recharge it every month).

I'm looking for a SIM card that I can buy which:
- is known not to work with Replicant
- is prepaid (no contract)
- doesn't cost too much money by obligating me to buy expensive
recharges every month just to be able to use it. The two cards I
bought require to be recharged every 6 months.
Here I'm assuming that the modem does talk to the SIM but the RIL
fails later like in [4]. So it's better to be able to reproduce the
  bug in the same circumstances.
- ideally can be bought in France since I live there.

Beside community management and patches review, my top priority for
Replicant are:
- Enable Replicant to build on GNU/Linux distributions that are
approved by the FSF[2]. I've started investigating that.
- Fix F-droid freedom issue: F-droid repository doesn't respect the
  Free software distributions guidelines[3].
- The bug(s) affecting SIM cards compatibility.
